Katie Baumgartel, SLP

Katie Baumgartel graduated from the University of Connecticut (UCONN) with a B.A. in Psychology and a B.A. in Communication Disorders in 2012. She then continued her studies at Southern Connecticut State University, where she graduated in 2014 with a Masters of Science in Speech Language Pathology.

Originally from Connecticut, she worked for two years in her home state before becoming a travel speech pathologist. 13 week contracts took her all over the country from Chicago to Austin to Alaska. She made her way to the North Lake Tahoe area in June 2020 and has decided she’s here to stay!

During her seven+ years as a speech language pathologist, Katie has worked in a variety of settings, including outpatient rehabilitation for adults and pediatrics, inpatient rehabilitation, acute rehabilitation, skilled nursing facilities, schools (preK-12), and in home health. She has treated clients of all ages with many speech and language disorders.

Katie is PROMPT trained and specializes in articulation, language disorders, and neurological rehabilitation.

In her free time, you’ll catch Katie outside exploring with her dog, Diego. From running to boating to hiking to backcountry skiing, she’s taking advantage of all that Tahoe’s outdoors has to offer!
